Dell has released a 12.1-inch rugged tablet PC, the Latitude XT2 XFR. The first rugged capacitive multitouch tablet PC from Dell has protection against rain, dust, vibration, extreme temperatures, and accidental drops. The tablet PC features a 12.1-inch display which is outdoor-readable and has a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels.
The XT2 XFR is powered by an Intel Core Duo ULV SU9600 processor clocked at 1.6GHz with the vPro technology, up to 5GB of RAM, up to 128GB of SSD or up to 160GB of hard drive, an Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics card, wireless LAN, Gigabit Ethernet, optional mobile broadband connectivity, Bluetooth, a speaker, a microphone, optional hot swappable 2-megapixel webcam or dedicated GPS, 3 USB ports, ExpressCard and SD slots, a Smart Card reader, a Firewire port, a VGA output, a fingerprint reader. The tablet PC runs on Windows Vista Business. Price: $3,600.
